Have you ever seen a chicken take a bath? Look no further. Below is one of our girls at Rosemary Farm taking her bath. But unlike humans, chickens enjoy coating themselves with dirt. Chickens care for their feathers and skin by digging shallow holes where they’ll toss dirt onto themselves to absorb excess moisture and oil. It also serves to repel parasites. In addition to a bath, they will use these holes to keep cool. If you get a chance to take in a chicken bath, it’ll be sure to brighten your day.
