Rosemary Farm to Donate More than 100,000 Eggs to California Military Bases

Military Families Continue to Face Food Insecurity Despite Promised Pay

Many military families across California still face food insecurity and financial stress, even as the federal government promises to ensure pay for active-duty military members during the ongoing government shutdown.

In response, Rosemary Farm, a California family-owned egg producer, is donating more than 100,000 farm-fresh eggs to military bases and food distribution programs aiding service members and their loved ones.

While active-duty pay is promised to remain intact, the ongoing shutdown has strained support programs and disrupted resources that many military families rely on—from food banks to community aid networks. Rosemary Farm’s donation seeks to help bridge that gap and ensure that nutritious food continues to reach those who serve.

“At Rosemary Farm, we’ve always taken great pride in supporting our military,” said Tracy Ramsdell, Marketing Director at Rosemary Farm. “As a family business, helping military families in a time of need is core to who we are.”

Rosemary Farm is partnering with organizations including The Cost of Courage Foundation, Feeding America Families, Armed Services YMCA, and Feeding San Diego to ensure the eggs reach military households directly affected by food insecurities. Some of the participating bases include: Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Vandenberg Space Force Base in Lompoc, and LA Air Force Base in El Segundo, among others.

By providing eggs, a versatile, high-protein staple, Rosemary Farm aims to help ease some of the immediate food insecurity challenges facing those who sacrifice daily for our country.

For Rosemary Farm, the donation reflects a nearly 100-year legacy of community care and agricultural stewardship. Founded in 1925 by Captain G. Allan Hancock, Rosemary Farm is one of California’s oldest egg producers and continues to prioritize sustainable farming and giving back in times of need.
